General Score Keeping

The basics of cornhole score keeping are pretty straight forward. The actual points awarded can differ, but the basics are as follows:

For every bag on the board that team receives 1 point. For every bag in the hole the team receives 3 points. Once the round is completed, both players have thrown all their bags, the scores are totaled up. The team with the higher score receives the difference between the two scores. For example Team A scored one bag in the hole and one on the board for a score of 4. Team B scores one on the board for a score of 1. Team A would receive 3 points on their score tower. (4 -1 = 3). A typical game of cornhole goes until one team reaches 21 or above.

Variations of Cornhole Score Keeping

There are obviously various ways to keep score in cornhole and your variation may be preferred. You may want to only want to go to a total score of 18 instead of 21 to make the games shorter. Or you may wish to be exactly on 21 to win a game. This will all depend on how competitive you wish to make the game.

If you are running a tournament or a league you will want to keep a total of each weeks scores. LeagueTrackerPro can do this for you, but there are many other methods as well. For the typical backyard game keeping running totals of the scores isn't as important, unless you are playing for higher stakes.

Remember get out there and have fun.
